Table Setting Range

Premium leather placemat with cutlery pocket - spill-proof, stain-proof, and made to outlast the dinner party. Sold separately.

It all started with a dad who let his boy bunk school

Luther and his son outside Woodheads, the hide merchant in Cape Town, holding a bag of offcuts

Theirs was a love affair with leather and cedar chips piled under the planer. They spent the morning at Woodheads, running their hands over hides and dreaming up an excuse to buy some very sharp tools.

Somewhere between the N2 and the workbench, they found one: a minimalist wallet. A radical move in an era when everyone was still collecting loyalty cards like baseball cards.

For the weeks to follow, the business grew up around the dining room table - the whole family in on the stitching, in on the name. A portion of every sale, we decided, would go toward Katie's studies. (She's the daughter of the woman who'd loved and practically helped raise our kids, so naming the business after her wasn't much of a decision at all.)

These days the range has grown, and so has the joy of building custom pieces with clients. What hasn't changed: proper leather, proper craft, love for the people we make it for - and a business that moves a future forward.

Proudly Stellenbosch.
Locally lekker.

We're a Stellenbosch brand at heart. We love its rhythms, its regulars, and its quirks that make it home. Our reach may grow, but our roots stay right here.

Why KT?

Katie is the daughter of a dear friend and our former employee. We watched her grow up and we believe she has a bright future ahead of her — one that a university education can help make possible.

That's why 30% of every sale goes straight to her future. As we grow, we hope to do the same for other promising kids along the way.
